Kelly’s Polaroid break!
She’s one talented lady, don’t you think? There’s definitely something so special about polaroids… they capture truly the moment. hmmm how shall I word it… Instant gratification?!
First off, I gotta say none of these phots are taken by me. Apparently my second digital camera went through a few to many white sand beaches this year (in Indonesia) so it was temporarily out of commission. (sigh) So I got a bunch of photos from Kelly T. and Alex M. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing your photos with me!
So even to my surprise, I took a last minute road trip from Los Angeles, CA to Austin, TX. Why? Well 1. I had to take in as much “America” before taking off to Tokyo. 2. To attend the big ol’ Austin City Limits Music Festival. It was the 10th anniversary of the revered event, which is now regarded as one of the Big Four U.S. music festivals alongside Bonnaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza. A friend of mine from USC, Marcus, asked me if I’d want to join his adventure a couple of days before departure date. I took a glance at the roster..and just couldn’t refuse. I mean… the headliners were Coldplay, Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, Arcade Fire, and about 130 others ranging from indie darlings (Fleet Foxes, The Head and the Heart, My Morning Jacket) to classics (Randy Newman, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Del McCoury Band) to good ol’ Texas favorites.
We had a few hiccups on the way but getting to see the grand canyon and the white sands in New Mexico was totally worth squeezing 10+ peeps in a RV. The majestic landscape of the wild wild west…what. a. sight.
Anyways, more stolen photos to come…
